Where We Draw the Line in Recruitment

Most recruitment agencies will tell you everything they're going to do for you. We prefer to start somewhere else with what we won't do.

It's a strange way to introduce yourself, we know. But stick with us.

A Different Kind of Promise

Somewhere along the way, recruitment stopped being about people and started being about numbers. Targets to hit. Roles to fill. CVs to process. And honestly? We're tired of it.

So we sat down and wrote out the things we refuse to do, not as a marketing exercise, but because we needed to say it out loud, to ourselves as much as anyone.

We Don’t Rush What Matters Most

Changing jobs is rarely "just" a career move. It's a decision that touches your finances, your family, your sense of who you are. We're not going to pressure you into accepting something just because we're under pressure to fill it. If that means a placement takes longer than it "should" — so be it.

We See People — Not Profiles

You are not a "candidate ID." You are not "headcount."

Behind every CV is someone with a story — why they're looking, what they're hoping for, what they're walking away from. Behind every vacancy is a team who needs the right person, not just any person. We try never to forget that.

We Speak Up When Something Doesn’t Feel Right

Sometimes it would be so much simpler to just push it through. Tell the candidate it's fine. Tell the client this one will work out. We don't do that. If something feels off, we'll say so even when staying quiet would make our lives easier.

We Treat Every Hire Like It Matters — Because It Does

A placement is not a line on an invoice. It's someone's Monday morning, for years to come. It's a team's culture, shifting slightly with every new person who joins. We take that seriously because it is serious.

So What Do We Do Instead?

  • We choose care over speed.

  • We choose to actually understand what someone needs, rather than guessing and hoping it's close enough.

  • And we choose long-term fit over short-term wins because if it doesn't last, was it ever really a win?

  • We only want to work with people and businesses who feel the same way.

A Question Worth Sitting With

If you've ever felt like just another CV in a pile or you've ever hired someone who looked perfect on paper but never quite fit, you already know why this matters.

What would recruitment look like if it slowed down? If it treated every decision like the big deal it actually is?

That's the question we ask ourselves every day at Nova. We don't always get it perfect. But it's the standard we hold ourselves to.

Curious whether we'd be a good fit for your team, or for your next move? Get in touch with Nova Express Recruit. We only speak with a limited number of new businesses each month, because doing this properly takes time.
